Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) chairman Everest Kayondo has today succumbed to the deadly Covid-19 as Uganda battles the second wave of the pandemic.
Kayondo died at Lifeline International Hospital in Zana, Kampala where he had been admitted with Covid-19 symptoms on Saturday, KACITA chief executive officer Abel Mwesigye said.
“He died this afternoon at Lifeline International Hospital in Zana. He was admitted on Saturday after testing positive with Covid-19,” Mr Mwesigye said.
Kayondo’s death comes two days after Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) executive director Gideon Badagawa also reportedly succumbed to the virus.
Badagawa died on Monday at Mulago National Referral Hospital where he was receiving treatment along with his wife who is still battling for her life.
